1. How do you choose the right home for your kittens?

We want each of our kittens to go to a loving and responsible home. When contacting us, please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your family, lifestyle, and the type of kitten you are looking for. This helps us recommend a kitten whose personality may be a good match for your family.

2. How does the kitten reservation process work?

Once you have chosen your kitten, a $400 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the kitten. The remaining balance is due when the kitten is ready to leave for their new home.

3. At what age can a Maine Coon kitten go to a new home?

Our Maine Coon kittens normally leave for their new homes at approximately 13–15 weeks of age.

We do not send kittens home too early. These additional weeks with their mother and littermates are important for their physical development, confidence, socialization, and behavior.

4. Are your kittens vaccinated and dewormed?

Yes. Before leaving our cattery, our kittens receive age-appropriate veterinary care, including two veterinary examinations, two vaccinations, and two dewormings.

We provide the kitten's veterinary records to the new owner.

5. Are your kittens spayed or neutered before leaving?

Yes. Our pet kittens are spayed or neutered before leaving for their new homes.

6. Are your Maine Coon breeding cats health tested?

Yes. Health is an important part of our breeding program. Our Maine Coon breeding cats are tested for important hereditary conditions associated with the breed, including HCM, SMA, and PKDef.

7. Are your kittens registered?

Yes. Our kittens are registered with TICA (The International Cat Association) and registration documents are provided according to the terms of our kitten agreement.

8. How are your Maine Coon kittens raised?

Our kittens are home-raised and receive daily human interaction from an early age. They grow up as part of our household rather than being raised without regular family contact.

We focus on socialization so our kittens can develop into confident, affectionate and well-adjusted companions.

9. Are the kittens litter trained?

Yes. Our kittens are introduced to the litter box while they are young and are litter trained before leaving our home.

10. What comes with my kitten?

Your kitten goes home with:

• Two veterinary examinations

• Two vaccinations

• Two dewormings

• Spay or neuter

• TICA registration documents

• Kitten agreement

• Veterinary records

• 30 days of  pet insurance

11. Where is NewChoice Cattery located?

NewChoice Cattery is located in East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada, north of Toronto.

We work with families from Ontario as well as other parts of Canada and the United States.

12. Do you offer delivery?

Delivery or transportation options may be available depending on your location. We can discuss the safest and most appropriate transportation option for your kitten when you contact us.

13. Can I reserve a kitten if I live in the United States?

Yes. We welcome inquiries from families in both Canada and the United States. Please contact us to discuss availability and transportation options.
